Profile

Bowland Wild Boar Park is a family run Business opened in 1999, and is set in 65 acres in the heart of the Forest of Bowland. It offers a brilliant and fun day out with the family. Enjoy a picnic or go for a ramble around the footpaths of the park whilst viewing wild boars, llamas, wallabys, red squirrels, pet lambs, birds and many more animals. We have lamb feeding 11am 2pm and 4.30pm followed by chick stroking.

New for this year at Bowland Wild Boar Park: Straw Barn Play Area, great for the kids. Tractor and trailer rides now available (for an additional small charge).

Freshly prepared home cooked snacks and meals are also available from our lovely cafe. Relax in front of our log burner and look out over the pond at one of our many bird feeding stations.

Children's Birthday parties and school trips are also catered for. Group visits of 10 or more will also receive free tractor and trailer rides!

We hold a Green Tourism Business Scheme Silver award, to acheive this we installed a wind turbine and two solar panels to generate our own electricity. These will also generate heat and hot water for the classroom and office when there is spare capacity. We have introduced recycling bins to encourage visitors to separate their rubbish, and we have switched to environmentally friendly soap in our washrooms.

What Our Visitors Say

My family and I visited the wild boar park this weekend and had a fantastic day. It was very reasonably priced and there was loads to see and do. The kids loved the barrell ride and walking round the cartoon trail. They had loads of opportunity to feed the animals and enjoyed stroking the barn owl and holding baby chicks. It was brilliant and highly recommended.

What Our Visitors Say

It is open everyday 10.30am - 5.30pm, is very reasonably priced and the owners are genuinely enthusiastic and friendly, with bigger and better ideas for the future. It has come on in leaps and bounds since I first visited (roughly 6 years ago).

All the animals here do appear to be well cared for, have adequate room to roam and have plenty of food and water available.

When you do arrive at the park, chances are you'll be greeted by one of the family members that own the park, and/or a peacock!
