Verner Wheelock - Who we are and what we do

Professor Verner Wheelock is Chairman of Verner Wheelock Associates and formerly Special Professor in Food Science at the University of Nottingham. Our head office is situated on the historic Broughton Hall Estate, near Skipton, Yorkshire.


We specialise in Food Safety Training and HACCP training courses for all levels from operatives food hygiens and HACCP training to HACCP management for all members of the HACCP team. We also provide internal auditing and lead auditor course to help food manufacturers prepare for BRC audits. Our courses are offered online or face-to-face at our training centre or at your site.

We can help you with all aspects of food hygeine, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), auditing and nutrition. Much of our work centres on the food safety management system of HACCP. Using our experienced tutors and consultants we are able to offer a comprehensive HACCP training programme incorporating all levels from operatives to senior management. We can also provide a bespoke consultancy service to help you meet the requirements of BRC audits and retailer audits.

Verner Wheelock Associates is a registered training and examination centre for the RSPH, CIEH and HABC, and many of our Training Programmes result in nationally recognised qualifications. We also offer online training accredited by City and Guilds.

Consultancy

As Consultants, the main focus of our work centres on food safety, health & safety, nutrition and topical food issues. Since the Pennington Report, which recommended much greater emphasis on HACCP, an enormous amount of work has arisen in this particular area. Significant developments in legislation and management practice have led to companies taking a more proactive approach. Our consultants have the experience and expertise required, to offer food companies the practical support and constructive advice needed, for today's competitive market.
