Overlooking the A6, the Duke Of York is close to restaurants, business, shops and Aquinas College. The bus to and from Stockport town centre stops right outside the front of the 'Duke'. Inside, the pub is very traditional, with a number of interesting features.
There is an attractive snug, lounge, and a games area with pool, darts and video games. Entertainment can be found here at weekends in the form of live football, a disco, and occasional live artists. At the rear of the property is an extensive and well looked after outdoor seating area and garden where smokers are welcome.
