St Mary's is a sixth form college that has the benefits of an extensive range of courses that can be tailored to your individual needs.
We have an excellent range of A Level and vocational coures with flexible learing packages designed to meet your highest aspirations, if you want, these can be combined with an exciting range of enhancement activities (those just above).

At St Mary's your learning will be guided by inspirational teachers with subject expertise and a wealth of experience in post-16 education.

Degree Courses

Welcome to the Higher Education Department at St. Mary's College. We are delighted that you are considering progressing your education with us.
Considering a Single Honours or a Foundation Degree can be a daunting prospect but we can assure you that our team of dedicated Higher Education Advisors can offer you the very best support available. We can advise you on which course to choose, how to apply and what assistance there is with finance.

The College is proud of its links with both Liverpool Hope University and UCLAN and it is these strong partnerships as well as our unique levels of support that have resulted in our fantastic student achievements.

Essential Skills

St. Mary's College currently offers Essential Skills courses in Literacy (English) and Numeracy (Mathematics) throughout Blackburn.
We work in partnership with schools and children's centres to provide classes for all members of the community both during the day and in the evenings. Essential Skills is aimed at improving people's Literacy and Numeracy skills. Course are available throughout the year and are accredited up to Level 2.

Enterprise

The SMC Enterprise building is the College's newest resource and was opened by Alistair Campbell in May 2011.
Funded by the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative, this building will enable all students to develop crucial enterprise skills and awareness and will allow St. Mary’s to act as a vital hub driving forward enterprise activity and education amongst our partner schools throughout Pennine Lancashire. In addition, this facility will enable us to forge enduring and effective links with the local business community.
