Welcome
Welcome to Wirral Christian Centre...
This church exists to bring people to Jesus and to encourage them to grow in love as committed members of God’s family, equipped for service, who communicate the good news of vibrant life in Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit, delighting God with lives of worshipful humility.
About us
We are an all-age local church made up of people from a wide spectrum of life. We seek to teach, understand and follow the whole message of the Bible, showing us how to be reconnected with God, which is the most vital need for everyone in our modern world. Our desire to share this message goes beyond our locality and we have a heart for this nation and other nations beyond our own.
We are an enthusiastic church and our Sunday meetings have a contemporary feel, with modern music and an open participation to all, where we seek to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us. Bible teaching is always a key ingredient of our meetings together and we also provide children’s and youth programmes to run alongside those for adults.
Welcome
The Wirral Christian Centre is an Elim Pentecostal Church based in Birkenhead. It has been run for its entire history by The Rev. Paul Epton who likes to refer to himself as an "International Evangelist, Church Planter, Teacher, Author and Senior Minister" who has "reached millions of people around the world." These rather lofty claims could be overlooked if the truth about Pastor Paul Epton and the Wirral Christian Centre were less worrisome.
About Us
The Wirral Christian Centre has been in operation under the leadership of Pastor Paul Epton for more than 30 years. In the past Pastor Epton has claimed to have received many "visions from God" including one promising a five thousand seater church with numerous community outreach and social programs.
A later vision had Pastor Epton overseeing house groups more than twice the size of the promised five thousand seater church. Neither vision ever came to fruition and today as he nears retirement the Wirral Christian Centre regularly struggles to gain any real significant congregation numbers.
The Church
The Wirral Christian Centre has long been regarded by many as a controversial church with an unenviable reputation. With its unusually high congregation turnover one doesn't have to search too hard to find people expressing less than flattering opinions of the church and its authoritarian leadership.
