About Us

Direct Cells was established in 1995 and has been successfully supplying batteries to the retail & manufacturing trade since then.

We have now decided to put the experience we have gained in the battery market, over the last 17 years, into offering the General Public the batteries they need, at the most competitive prices and with the best service that it is possible to offer.

We only offer top branded products with household names like Sony, Maxell, Panasonic, GP etc and it is our hope to increase this range over the coming few months.

Clock Repairs

We can supply & fit new quartz movements to most battery run clocks and are happy to try & repair mechanical & chiming clocks.

No Repair - No Charge (however long we work on it)

watch battery care and use

Keep batteries out of the reach of children. In case of ingestion of a cell or battery, the person involved should seek medical assistance promptly.
Equipment intended for use by children should have battery compartments which are tamper-proof.
Exhausted batteries immediately should be removed from the watch or device otherwise the device can be damaged by leaking batteries.
Watch batteries are designed and manufactured to meet the special requirements of the watches in which they are used. Serious damage to the watch may result if the wrong battery is used.
When replacing a watch battery, be sure to insert it in accordance with the maker's instructions. Make sure the battery is the right way up, otherwise polarity will be reversed.
When handling a watch battery, do not touch it with your fingers and do not use metal tweezers which will short-circuit the battery. Use only plastic tweezers.
Replace all batteries of a set at the same time. Newly purchased batteries should not be mixed with partially exhausted ones. Batteries of different electrochemical systems, grades or brands should not be mixed. Failure to observe these precautions may result in some batteries in a set being driven beyond their normal exhaustion point and thus increase the possibility of leakage.
Store watches batteries in their original packing in a cool and dry place, at a temperature between 10°C and 20°C. Do not keep batteries in a refrigerator, due to high humidity and the danger of condensation.

The environmental Challenge

In the UK we dispose of over 1.2 million tonnes of electrical and electronic waste every year. This is the equivalent of 150,000 double decker buses and is enough to fill the new Wembley Stadium 6 times over. Much of the UK's electronic waste ends up in landfill sites, where toxins could leech out and put communities at risk.

What we do

Under the Waste Batteries Regulations, Direct Cells are offering a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries. You can return your waste batteries to our premises in person.
