Back payments are £250 for every year you have been married to a maximum of £1000. Payments are processed within 6-8 weeks.

You can apply if all the following are applicable:



you're married or in a civil partnership.
one of you pays Income Tax at the basic rate, which usually means income is between £12,501 and £50,000.
one of you does not pay Income Tax.
you were both born after 6/4/1935.
