About Brooks Fitness

Brooks Fitness is a personal training and group fitness service for women across Bury and Rossendale, delivered by sister duo, Kate and Ruth Brooks, level 3 qualified Personal Trainers.

Services include: one-to-one personal training including pre and postnatal personal training, group training, group exercise classes, bootcamp courses, exercise programming, nutritional advice and general health and wellbeing guidance. Sessions can be delivered in the comfort of your own home, at your workplace or outdoors. We also deliver personal training and group workout sessions at Primal Boxing & Fitness in Bury, and Kate offers Personal Training at Riverside Health Club in Rawtenstall.

MUM-TO-BE BOOTCAMP

Stay fit, active and strong throughout your pregnancy with Kate's Mum-to-Be Bootcamp!

Mum-to-Be Bootcamp incorporates different exercise formats, using body weight and weights to give your full body a workout! With big focus placed on maintaining and building strength in your posterior chain, core, glutes and pelvic floor as your pregnancy progresses.

Kate is a pre and postnatal exercise specialist, so all exercises will be suitable for your stage of pregnancy and can be adapted for your experience level and ability.

About the Sessions

*Sessions are delivered in 4-week blocks and differ week-on-week, using a variety of training formats and equipment. So you take part in classes with the same group of women throughout the course; familiar setting, same friendly faces, sisterhood support, share your pregnancy journey!
*Course cost: £30 for 4 weeks (purchased upfront at the start of the course).
*To take part you MUST get the OK to exercise by your GP or midwife. You will be required to complete a PAR-Q for pregnancy and get this signed by your GP or midwife prior to taking part.
*Classes take place in the evening and will be 1 hour long, 45 minutes exercise and then time to talk as a group and with Kate post session.
*Kate will demonstrate every exercise, talk through technique, giving support throughout.
*All you will need to bring is a water bottle to keep well hydrated, you will hear Kate talk about drinking plenty of water, a lot, and a towel to mop your brow, we will work up a sweat!

Group exercise is great for many reasons, some of which are listed below...

*Meet other local mums-to-be, make new friends, share your pregnancy journey and support one another.
*Retain and build strength (particularly in your posterior chain, core, glutes and pelvic floor), maintain fitness and mental well-being.
*Give yourself an energy boost - as tired as you feel, you'll feel energised and upbeat following a good workout - great for you and baby!
*Helps with facilitation and recovery of labour.
*Focus on your health and well-being instead of always putting everyone else first... and don't feel guilty for it!

MUM & BABY BOOTCAMP

Calling new mums... get back into fitness following the birth of your baby at Kate's Mum & Baby Bootcamp!

Mum & Baby Bootcamp incorporates different exercise formats, using body weight and weights to give your full body a workout! With big focus on retraining and building strength in your core and pelvic floor.

You take your little ones to story and rhyme time, messy play and baby massage... well now it's time to turn your attention on YOU and give yourself an hour out of your day! 😊

Kate is a pre and postnatal exercise specialist, so all exercises are suitable and can be adapted for your experience level and ability. Childcare isn't an issue either, as your little ones are more than welcome to join the fitness fun. Just bring something to keep them entertained, and if you need to take 5 for a bottle/breastfeed break or nappy change don't worry, it'll be a relaxed atmosphere.

About the Sessions

*Sessions are delivered in 4-week blocks and differ week-on-week, increasing in intensity (in moderation), using a variety of training formats and equipment. So you take part with the same group of women throughout the course; familiar setting, same friendly faces, sisterhood support!
*Course cost: £30 for 4-week block (paid upfront at the start).
*To take part you MUST have been signed off and OK'd to exercise by your GP or midwife, this is usually 6-12 weeks after having your baby. You will be required to complete a PAR-Q and health questionnaire prior to taking part.
*Classes take place during the day and will be 1 hour long, 40/45 minutes exercise and then time to talk as a group and with Kate post session. A post workout coffee catch-up is encouraged too, this is as much about encouraging socialising and new friendships as it is improving strength and fitness.
*Kate will demonstrate every exercise, talk through technique, giving support throughout. She is good at multitasking too, cuddling crying babies whilst you workout - she will always make sessions work!
*All you will need to bring is a water bottle to keep well hydrated, you will hear Kate talk about drinking plenty of water, a lot, and a towel to mop your brow, we will work up a sweat!

Group exercise is great for many reasons, some of which are listed below...

*Meet other local mums, make new friends, share experiences and support one another.
*Regain strength particularly in your core and pelvic floor, improve fitness and mental well-being. If you have abdominal separation (diastasis recti) Kate will discuss/show you how to check this, and show you suitable exercises to restore your core.
*Give yourself an energy and confidence boost.
*Focus on your health and well-being instead of always putting everyone else first... and don't feel guilty for it!

MUM & BUGGY BOOTCAMP

Kate is starting a Buggy Bootcamp at Whitaker Park in Rawtenstall in May (from 2 May over the summer months).

Mums... hands up who's up for a big hit of feel-good endorphins and vitamin D, getting that all-important exercise in the great outdoors?

You take your little ones to story and rhyme time, messy play and baby massage... well now it's time to turn your attention on YOU and give yourself an hour out of your day! 😊

Mum & Buggy Bootcamp will incorporate different exercise formats, using bodyweight and portable exercise equipment to give your full body a workout! We'll make the most of the fantastic open space at Whitaker park, keeping it fun and varied each week.

Kate is a pre and postnatal exercise specialist, so all exercises will be suitable and can be adapted for your experience level, ability and postnatal stage. There will be a big focus on retraining core and pelvic floor, exercises to build strength and stamina in the safest way.

Childcare isn't an issue as your little ones are more than welcome to join the fitness fun, pop them in their buggy and you're good to go! Just be sure you prepare for changing weather conditions and bring something to keep them entertained... and if you need to take 5 for a bottle/breastfeed or nappy change don't worry, it'll be a relaxed and easy-going atmosphere.

About the Sessions

*Sessions will be delivered in 4-week blocks and will differ week on week, using a variety of training formats and equipment. Making the most of the fantastic open space at Whitaker park. You'll be taking part with the same group of women throughout the course; familiar setting, same friendly faces, sisterhood support!
*Cost: £20 for 4-week block
*Sessions will be 1 hour, 40/45 minutes exercise and then time to cool-down, stretch and talk as a group and with Kate post session (we'll have a good old natter throughout!). A post workout coffee and/or lunch is encouraged too, and the facilities and food at The Whitaker are spot on! These sessions are as much about socialising and forming new friendships as they are exercising.
*Kate will demonstrate every exercise, talk through technique, giving support throughout. She is good at multitasking too, cuddling crying babies whilst you workout - she will always make sessions work!
*All you need to bring is an exercise mat (or travel picnic blanket they double up as a great exercise mat and you can pop your little ones on them too!), it is advised to have your own, so you can keep / clean it and can use it for home workouts/picnics too! A water bottle to keep well hydrated, you will hear Kate talk about drinking plenty of water, a lot! And a towel to mop your brow, we will work up a sweat.

Group exercise (and exercise outdoors) is great for many reasons, some of which are listed below...

*Meet other local mums, make new friends, share experiences and support one another - all about sisterhood support!
*Regain strength (particularly in your core and pelvic floor), improve health, fitness, mental health and well-being.
*Give yourself an energy and confidence boost - endorphins and vitamin D does you WONDERS!
*Exercise in the great outdoors; fresh air, greenery, daylight and hopefully lots of sunshine!
*Focus on your health and well-being instead of always putting everyone else first... and don't feel guilty for it!
